    Lindsey Milton Thornton, 76, of Bismarck passed away April 1, 2018. Lindsey was born to the late Gilliam and Maggie Prince Thornton in Bismarck, Arkansas on September 30, 1941. Lindsey was inducted into the Arkansas Auction Hall of Fame; he was also a previous member of the International Rodeo Association, former President and longtime volunteer/supporter of the Arkansas 4H Club, former president of Bismarck Business Association and founder of the Bismarck Bash.

    Lindsey is preceded in death by his parents, Gilliam Moore Thornton and Maggie Lizbeth Prince Thornton.

    Lindsey is survived by his children, Debbie Patterson, Terry Thornton, Brian H Thornton and Zac Thornton, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, along with his sisters, Marjorie Thornton and Marsha Lee.

    Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern. Visitation will start at 10:00 AM one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral arrangements.

    My prayers and condolences to the Thornton family. I worked with Lin both at ADEQ and Bryant Family Fest and always enjoyed his company. His laugh was most contagious and something he loved to do, that and tell stories, which were endless and as much fun as he was. May God's Mercy, Blessings, and comfort be with the entire family during this time.

    I am praying for strength, peace, comfort and healing for Debbie, all family members and close friends. To lose a loved one anytime; and, especially so suddenly, is a very difficult and tragic situation for those left behind to have to confront. My heart goes out to each one of you as you walk through this difficult time. Just know that many of us deeply care and are available if you need us for anything. May God wrap His loving Arms of comfort and healing around each one of you is my sincere and humble prayer.

    Remembering a life that added so much goodness to the world...So many 4-H'ers and 4-H Leaders received scholarships because of Lindsey and his auction abilities to raise thousands of dollars at Spring and Fall 4-H Leader Retreats at the C.
